Your
First Dental Visit
Our team understands that visiting a new dentist can be intimidating.
Dr. Schwert and his team want to make you feel at ease while
receiving your dental treatment. Our goal is to provide you
with a pleasant and comfortable experience that helps you
stay healthy and happy.
Upon your first visit, we will:
Listen to your concerns and expectations
Review your medical and dental history
X-ray your mouth and jaw (if needed)
Discuss the different dental treatments we provide
Answer any questions you may have
Preparing Your Child
Before bringing your child to us for the first time, prepare
them for this new experience. Discuss the positive aspects
of dentistry with your child, possibly with a children's story.
For your child's first dental visit, we will:
Introduce the office environment and ourselves
Perform an informal cavity-detection exam
Thoroughly clean and perform a fluoride treatment for
children over two
Take any necessary x-ray of the teeth and jaw
Prepare a treatment plan for your child's dental need
Morning appointments are best for children since they are
most refreshed and accepting of new experiences. Please provide
us with ALL the information pertinent to your child's dental,
medical, and social situation. If you expect your child to
enjoy their first visit, chances are they will do exactly
that.
